Barn Quilts on Barn Fest Conference Program

Barn Fest 2014 is covering many topics relating to preservation & restoration of barns and farm structures.  Our lead-off session on Friday, September 26 is about bringing beauty to these stately structures.  Learn about the driving routes in Dickinson county and how over 50 barn quilts have been created & now displayed, making Dickinson County one of the largest concentration of barn quilt art in the state.

KSFHQT Goes To Holton, Jackson County
Quilting On The Square Quilt Shop in Holton invited the
Kansas Flint Hills Quilt Trail to join the Art Walk in Holton
last Friday evening, August 29th.
The Art Walk visitors were fun to visit with, and
it looks like a couple barn blocks will be joining the Trail!

"Barn Quilting" Hits Doniphan County!

The Kansas Flint Hills Quilt Trail Team traveled to Troy,
Thursday, August 5th, to share the art.
The class was hosted by Kathy Tharman,
Doniphan County Extension Director.

WAY TO GO! DICKINSON COUNTY!
Thanks to Lori Hambright, Dickinson County Ks Flint Hills Quilt Trail Rep,
Barn Quilts are highlighted throughout the floral display room
at the Central Kansas Free Fair in Abilene. The Fair runs through August 5th.
The Fair also included several barn blocks competing in open classes, including youth.
Thank you to the Dickinson County, as well as Geary County, folks
that participated in the barn quilt displays and entries!

as part of the display.
